Interests

Aside from my studies, I have a diverse range of hobbies and other interests. I enjoy music, and have a very broad ranging taste including rock, pop, jazz and classical music. I am a fairly modest drummer, with my own drum kit, and I practice when I can, although I am not a member of a band as yet.

I have always enjoyed some of the more adventurous pursuits, mainly stemming in my time in Scouts and Ventures. These interests include climbing and abseiling, hill walking and canoeing. I also sail a Fireball (a racing dinghy for those who aren't familiar with boat classes) with a friend, which entails the exhilerating experience of trapezing (dangling over the edge of the boat hooked on to a steel wire).

I naturally have an interest in computing and enjoy learning a new programming language, or learning to further my skills with the ones I already understand.

I enjoy films, and have a good DVD and video collection, as well as being a regular cinema-goer. I particularly like films with subtle plot twists. Reading is another pastime of mine, and I like reading both fiction and non-fiction.

I find I am also a very sociable person, and enjoy meeting new people, making new friends, and telling the occasional joke. I like to play snooker at the local club when I have time, and of course a few games of pool in the local pub.
